The 2026/27 Manchester City Away jersey is a tribute to the worker bee, the symbol of this city of industry and its hard-working citizens.

It was adopted in the 1800's during the Industrial Revolution, when Manchester led the country in production, transportation and innovation, a hive of activity. In 1842, the bee was added to the new city coat of arms. In 2017, after a city center bombing, the importance of this symbol of solidarity and strength grew.

Today, images of bees can be seen all around the city.
